I have always wanted to help people. In high school I wrote a paper I wrote how I wanted to be a therapist when I grew up, I am so happy that I eventually fulfilled my goal. At first, life lead me down a business path however, many life experiences continued to draw me back to my childhood dream of therapy. In 2008, as a single mom of 2, I completed my master’s degree in Clinical Counseling. Many years have passed since then and I have gained so much knowledge and experience that enhances my ability to connect and empathize with my clients. Since then I married, and my husband and I have three more children (totaling 5).
In my practice l utilize a systems perspective fostering a deeper understanding of my clients and their families. My experience as a Family Based Therapist using Eco-Systemic Family Based Therapy (ESFT) a trauma-based approach has given me wonderful understanding to assist with families dealing with a high level of conflict. For three years I taught undergraduate psychology at Argosy University. I have also worked in private practice settings for many years.
